Hi there,
It's been a busy few weeks!
I had the privilege of attending Impact Partner Summit in Chicago, chatting with nonprofit consultants and learning how to best serve the “Impact Economy.”
Three Consistent Themes
🚀 Leadership culture is a precursor to change. Transformational projects that lack executive buy-in are doomed to fail. Look for nonprofit clients whose leaders are humble, eager to learn, and unafraid to dream big. Culture trickles down from the top.
🤖 Data and technology drive impact. Helping your clients intentionally capture and use the data most relevant to their missions is key to long-term success. Remember that 80% of your results come from 20% of your activities – focus on that 20%. There were great presentations on Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) best practices!
🌱 Abundance beats scarcity. The verbiage we use (pain points, what keeps you up at night, etc., etc.) primes us to approach clients from a place of scarcity and fear. When we flip the script and allow clients to be aspirational, we open opportunities for creative solutions, team engagement, and follow-through. This same mindset changes competitors to potential collaborators since we’re all here for the same reason: helping mission-driven organizations succeed.
One Program That Stood Out
Pledgenohate.tech: This new program was unveiled during the event. The Impact Partner Network team is developing a certification to present your organization's values. Follow them on LinkedIn to add your voice to the conversation!
Shoutout
I'd like to shoutout to Three Little Birds Agency for the phenomenal job organizing at such a beautiful venue. I'm looking forward to next year! (Don’t miss the pre-event poker game).
If you have any thoughts about the event or want to exchange ideas, let’s chat!
In Other News
My team recently participated alongside Social Impact Solutions, in a webinar about donor engagement for Giving Tuesday. They touched on some really great topics to help get nonprofits ready for one of the busiest giving times of the year. See the full recording here!
Let’s make nonprofits successful through technology!
Warm regards,
